Cast Iron Indian Clubs AKA. Clubbells

Unconventional training at its finest. Indian clubs are similar to kettlebells in a sense that the weight it at one-end. However the benefit to Indians Clubbells are that they are shaped like a rounders bat which allows to easily rotate two at a time, using fluid movement. The perpendicular grip itself not allows the clubbell weight to assist, and requires much more neurological activation to keep the cast iron indian club in position and under control.

The key benefit to clubbells is similar to kettlebells in that they are full-body workout tools. You can use Indian Clubs in your warm up sets for an overhead press, or bench day to increase shoulder mobility and to activate your secondary muscle groups ahead of a heavy press. Equally you could use clubs as a training session in itself, with plenty of 20 minute high intensity workouts available online.

We use the Indian Clubbells here at Buds Fitness and our buds find them so enjoyable, and they provide us as coaches such versatile and really interesting variation for shoulder workouts and also core engagement.

What weight clubbell should I start with?
This is difficult to answer as of course it is all relative to your strength however, we would personally recommend leaving your ego out of your purchase decision as Indian Clubs can be quite humbling due to the unparalleled levels of adaptability required to control the movement of the clubbell itself.

We would recommend the following progression steps before advancing to a heavier weight:
* Two hand grip, on one Indian Club.
* One hand grip, on one Indian Club.
* An Indian Club PER HAND.
