Adjustable Power Tower
This article will provide a thorough review of the Phoenix Fitness Adjustable Power Tower & Dip Station.
What makes it adjustable?
11 adjustments to the height. Taking it from 187cm to 232cm. The top section adjusts up and down, ideal if you have a small garage gym where the pitch of the roof where you store the power tower, is different to where you’d want to use it.
4 adjustments to the dip bar attachments, which allows you to lengthen or shorten to your dimensions Arms are adjustable to work around your dimensions.
7 adjustments to the backrest positioning. Back pad can be adjusted up, down in and out which again ensures the power tower works to your dimensions, or in and out
What are the dimensions?
- Height: 187cm – 232 cm on tallest setting
- Width: Pull up bar is 104cm, but the base is only 72cm wide.
- Depth: 91cm deep
Is it sturdy?
Ultimately the frame is made from 5cm wide steel, and the total rack weighs approximate 28kg, so to a degree it will be surface dependent and the weight of the user itself.
For me, I weigh over 100kg so when use the pull up bar at full extension I do feel nervous when doing multiple reps of pull ups. With that said when performing dips, leg raises, or press ups I am comfortable.
I would say with the average weight in the uk being approximately 80kilo then this power tower will be fantastic in most home gyms.
What exercises can you do?
Without wishing to overwhelm I will just provide the 5 exercises that we would do most regularly on the power tower here in our fitness studio.
- Leg Raises.
- Incline press ups.
- Pull ups / Assisted pull ups.
- Body Weight Dips.
- Weighted dips.
How long does it take to assemble?
One-person assembly, I would say no more than 45 minutes. Two-person assembly you will get it done comfortably within half an hour.
Key features of the Phoenix Fitness Power Rack
- Adjustable height.
- Compact footprint.
- Easy to assemble, easy to store away.
- Premium finish with the padding and non-slip feet.
- Versatile home gym tool, ideal for a full body workout.
Who is this designed for?
I would 100% recommend this for someone with space in their home gym for a versatile core workout station. This will cut down on the requirement of having a separate pull up bar, push up handles and dip station but combining those products into one.
If you have specific height requirements, either due to your own height or the height of your home gym the fact that this is adjustable is truly very handy.
This product is NOT designed for a heavyweight strongman looking to gain additional muscle due to the weight, and width of the product itself.
Honestly, when paired with the Phoenix Fitness Weight bench some adjustable dumbbells and a skipping rope you genuinely would have a fantastic workout space to keep you active and have a versatile training plan developed.
How much?
Of course, due to brands being able to inflate prices due to productions costs, increases in tax etc. and also with sales on throughout the year, I’d be nervous providing a specific price but as of November 2024, this product retails at £120.
